TRANQUIL MATTER is a collection of songs that were written over the course of 2020 to 2022 that represents my personal conversations I have with music that have inspired me recently. In 2020 there was a time where I was listening to old collections (to note a few : Gap Band, J Dilla, 9th Wonder, and Earth Wind and Fire) that made me rethink approaches to instrumental production. There was a lot of time to "stay at home" and so the ennui (def: listlessness and dissatisfaction arising from a lack of occupation or excitement) put me into a position of "should I just hang it up" or "let's give it another go at making music" and so, I chose the latter. I started writing new chord progressions/melodies and forming complementary rhythms around those melodic drafts.

In reflection to recent memories, 2021 was quite a busy year, there was such a surge in restless energy (the returning to work in person, the amount of events returning) all emerging out of a forced downtime we all had to experience. The Tranquil Matter project was created out of a need to relax and breathe, to return back to a mindstate of balance.
